Our design team works closely with inventors, engineers, physicists, chemists, and business executives to understand their needs and to create prototypes that achieve the results that our clients desire. Upon retirement in 2016, George F. Jarrard acquired and moved his former machine shop to Carroll County and established one of the most unique independent R&D prototype development companies in the country. With 45 years in the business, George F. Jarrard has worked closely with inventors, physicists, chemists, engineers, and business owners to quickly and accurately create the required prototypes to meet their manufacturing goals and needs. He is known for expertly utilizing a variety of raw materials including plastics, steel, aluminum, brass, bronze, and copper to innovatively create and build working prototypes for clients in a variety of industries. His reputation for offering personalized service to clients throughout the process, to maintain quality, reliability, and costs, is acknowledged throughout the industry. George began his career at Purdue University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Vocational Industrial Education with supporting coursework in mechanical engineering from the School of Technology. At the same time, he earned his journeyman card from the East Chicago Apprentice Council, working as a machinist and teaching apprenticeship training at local high schools and junior college as well as Purdue. He has held a variety of leadership positions in R&D over his illustrious career.George E. Jarrard serves as manager for Carroll Custom Machining, coordinating all administrative functions for the company. He is the main contact for estimating, purchasing, billing, accounting, and customer service. Following his graduation from Indiana University, he was instrumental in starting the company, providing insight into drawing and machining in addition to coordinating the business side of the operation. When he is not in the office, he is seen rolling up his sleeves and lending his expertise to Carroll Custom Machining’s design and machining divisions.With previous experience managing office operations for several businesses including a Fortune 100 company, Carole Jarrard joined Carroll Custom Machining to coordinate the company’s back house functions. She manages project traffic including packaging, delivery and pickup as well as customer correspondence. In addition, she conducts research and performs other essential office support functions as needed.

Nearly 30 years in CNC machining, including a decade in R&D work, has equipped Juan Rodriguez for his position as a machinist with Carroll Custom Machining. Juan worked closely with his supervisor, George Jarrard for many years, joining Carroll Custom Machining when the machine shop moved to Carroll County. An all-around machinist, Juan runs manual and computer-controlled equipment, including mills, lathes, and grinders. He also performs custom modifications for clients.With a background in nuclear medicine equipment and electronics, James McKenzie serves as a technician at Carroll Custom Machining. He joined the company in early 2020 to provide assembly and electrical expertise. He also assists with the design process for clients.Maria Rodriguez serves as a machine operator and manages packaging and shipping operations for Carroll Custom Machining. She also contributes to finishing functions, most notably sanding and painting. Maria’s organizational skills are put to work as she ensures that parts meet customer and drawing specifications. Maria joined Carroll Custom Machining in early 2020.
